Breck Sky Fest

The Breckenridge Sky Festival, usually shortened to Breck Sky Fest, is being developed as an astronomy and dark-sky festival in Breckenridge, Colorado for November 2026.[2]

The festival site describes a mix of telescopes, hands-on science, art and community time under the stars. Final dates, venues and event times are not yet published and are expected to be posted in October.[2]

What is being developed

The current festival program includes several activities in development rather than confirmed final listings:[2]

  • Breck Sky Night — a community telescope and constellation night.[2]
  • Breck Sky Day — public solar astronomy and hands-on light and optics activities.[2]
  • High Country Stargaze — a smaller, ticketed signature stargazing experience in a mountain setting.[2]
  • Breck Sky School — astronomy and solar-science sessions for participating schools and youth groups.[2]
  • Additional proposed community activities including a planet walk, artist workshops, night-sky photography, talks, wellness programming and food or warm-drink stops.[2]

These are planning-stage program elements. Individual venues, times, access arrangements, capacities and weather plans should be treated as TBA until the festival publishes them as confirmed.[2]

Current status

Registration is not open yet. The organizer currently says the AstroTours-produced school session, community stargazing night and public solar astronomy are planned as free programs, while the High Country Stargaze is planned as a ticketed event.[2]

Do not make travel plans around a specific festival activity until its date, venue and access details are confirmed on the festival site.[2]

What makes this place special

Breckenridge is already an official Colorado Stargazing Trail destination and an International Dark Sky Community. Breck Sky Fest is being built around that local dark-sky identity, making it a useful program to track for visitors planning a November astronomy trip to Summit County.[2]
